I had a wonderful experience with the guys and gals at Centennial Hyundai last month. So wonderful, in fact, I can say with 100% confidence that my next car will be a Hyundai from Centennial, too.
I have been shopping around for cars a lot the last year, in that all-too-common situation of having less than perfect credit and struggling to pay bills, student loans, save money, and improve credit (somehow). This time around, I had done a lot of homework. I knew my scores and I even carried folders with pay stubs and paperwork to each dealer in town. I did the smart thing and went to all the dealers I could in one day, so as to minimize the hard inquiry impact on my credit to 24 hours. The mistake I made was not listening to my mom when she told me over and over again, "Go to Hyundai."
After my mom got divorced she had similar credit struggles, and knew she needed a new car and a new loan, to improve her score and her life. She was turned down by every major dealer, especially the domestics. She finally found refuge at a Hyundai in Chicago and has been driving them ever since, score now up over 720. Well, she was right. I was denied by dodge and Toyota without a cosigner and left Mazda basically running in fear of a shit deal and even more shit service. They honestly made me feel like I was tiny, insignificant, stupid, and worthless. Like being lied directly TO. In fifteen minutes. A career in hospitality, I still can't explain to you how you can make someone feel so afraid of the "deal" you're making them that they'd rather walk home than buy a car from you. Mazda.
So, end of the night I listened to my mom one last time and I headed over to Centennial Hyundai. Walked in the door and within 3 seconds had been greeted warmly by multiple members of the staff. Headed straight to the finance desk and laid it out. "Here's my situation... I want to improve things for myself." ...not one minute in I'm cut off by the finance guru telling me not to worry, they will take care of me. As a female buyer, I felt instantly safe and knew these guys would help me out. And they did. I met Tom, a salesman who reminds you of an Uncle and treats you like family. He showed me multiple options and never once made me feel bad about my situation or my spending limit. He found me a beautiful 2013 Elantra with Bluetooth and less than 28,000 miles on it. Gorgeous. All I can say is it was the exact opposite of the Mazda experience, and so much more welcoming especially than the Prestige Dodge experience, too.
Tom and all the finance guys were able to get me a good loan on MY terms at a payment and down payment I could afford. They were always straight forward with me. They have been insanely informative and a huge help during the buying process. The finance process was simple, and when I left that night waiting for the bankers to finalize the deal in the AM, I even woke to a phone call from the finance manager himself telling me he had good news, he'd closed the deal and I was welcome to come by and pick up my beautiful new car whenever I wanted to. What great customer service. This was the guy who was there at 9pm making the deal for me, back at 7:30am finishing what he started.
The car runs great, friends are jealous (that's the point right?), gets even better mpg than I had hoped, has a sizable warranty remaining, new tires, a clean interior, xm radio, and I have the knowledge that if I need anything at all, those guys will be there to help. They communicate well via voicemail or email if I'm busy at work, and have my green slip ready already. I'll be back within the year to trade up and continue improving my credit. They made the process simple, and I feel the trust there is hard to come by in the dealership world. I was never a Hyundai fan before, and yet I don't think I'll buy anything but a Hyundai or from anywhere but centennial again. Thanks guys.

I was looking to buy a used car and when the car I wanted was no longer there I looked into a lease. Joe gave me some good information and did a work up for a purchase and I ended up going with the purchase. I might have made a big mistake by leasing but after Joe explained everything I know I made the right decision, and was able to get a 0% interest rate. I appreciate all his honesty and looking out for my best interest. I am so appreciative of my experience at Cenntennial!
